We are more than real estate agents, we are change agents.
RRG is a team of Realtors brokered by CDM Real Estate. We are experienced in residential, agricultural, commercial, and industrial real estate sales and purchasing, as well as property management and investing. Our team shares a commitment to solving clients’ real estate problems, and a commitment to leaving the real estate industry, society, and the planet better than how we found it.
The real estate/housing and development industry has contributed heavily to some serious problems which we eventually must face. For example, we are consistently in the top 5 when it comes to both landfill waste and emissions/carbon footprint. We are also a major contributor to the widening wealth gap - the wealthy get wealthier through real estate investments, while those for whom homeownership is unattainable are left further and further behind. Our belief is that as successful participants in this industry, we have a moral imperative to address these big issues.
This is why we do what we do - it is our ethical duty, as well as our privilege, to dedicate a significant portion of our profits to changing things for the better. If we don’t take responsibility for the problems facing our industry, our society, and our planet, who will? In the words of Dr. Seuss: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” (The Lorax). We can’t do it alone, though. We hope to set an example for the rest of the real estate and development world, and start a trend whose ripple effects can create a lasting positive impact that will continue benefiting future generations indefinitely.
Our strategy to effect these changes is multi-pronged, but it starts with shrinking the wealth gap right here in Central IA. According to The One Economy Report, the black homeownership rate in Polk County is lower than other ethnic groups and has not made any progress in over 30 years. This lack of access to homeownership leads directly to a lack of wealth, which leads to a lack of everything else from educational options, to entrepreneurial opportunities, to positive health outcomes. The biggest barriers standing in the way of homeownership and wealth building include a lack of down payment funds and a lack of financial education. We are proud to partner with local nonprofit lending agency Neighborhood Finance Corp (NFC) to chip away at these hurdles to homeownership by supporting their Journey 2 Homeownership (J2H) program. J2H is an educational program paired with a down payment assistance grant program aimed at improving homeownership rates among black Iowans by 2% by 2023. Connect with us to stay up to date on the progress we’ve made toward phase 1 of the mission!

A Des Moines Drake Neighborhood native, Gabriel has been involved in IA real estate since 2003/04, when, along with his Callanan Junior High School friends, he formed an after school skateboarding club, which joined with youth-focused community organizations to get the momentum going on a project that started with Des Moines’ first public skatepark (a small park now open at 4-mile community center on Easton blvd), and has since evolved into the downtown Lauridsen skatepark (the country’s largest skatepark). Graduating as valedictorian of Roosevelt HS in 2009, Gabriel then earned a degree in music therapy magna cum laude from the University of Evansville. After an internship in Florida as a hospice music therapy worker, he returned to Des Moines and became a licensed agent with Developers. Gabriel takes great pride in prioritizing the relationship over the commission and guarantees every customer will be fully satisfied or his commission is free. With an exceptional eye for details in both properties and paperwork, and an intimate feel for the economic and social trends occurring from well-established, centrally located areas out to the edge of advancing infrastructure & development, Gabe is well qualified to negotiate win-wins on behalf of both commercial and residential buyers and sellers anywhere in the metro. He gets true enjoyment from analyzing properties, offers, and deals to ensure both buyers’ and sellers’ interests are protected and every transaction is advantageous to his clients, whether for a first-time home buyer or a seasoned investor looking for another nice portfolio piece. This dedicated, listen-first, relationship-first approach is one reason he’s continued to work with his long and varied client list. In his personal time, Gabe enjoys making friends, finding great deals, talking with other entrepreneurs, learning, saving money, coaching/officiating youth basketball, playing basketball, skateboarding, and developing his personal portfolio of properties.
